About Monique Shaw
I know exactly what it’s like to dream about working in film and TV without knowing where to start. Growing up, I imagined movie scenes in my head, but breaking into the industry felt impossible—until I did it.
My path wasn’t traditional. I started in corporate marketing and communications at Verizon Wireless before making the leap into film production. Landing my first Production Assistant role on The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 was a game-changer, and over the next decade, I worked behind the scenes on major film and TV sets. Along the way, I learned what it really takes to get hired, build a reputation, and turn industry connections into long-term career opportunities.
I also saw firsthand how many talented creatives struggle because they don’t have access to insider knowledge, the right strategy, or a clear roadmap to success. That’s why I created IM Media Productions—to bridge that gap. Through personalized coaching, group sessions, and career resources, I help aspiring professionals navigate the evolving film and TV industry with confidence.
I also wrote a book to guide industry newcomers, giving them the tools and strategies I wish I had when I started.
